Muster Mixer # 12 (Narwal + 'Nzeppel)

This month's Muster Mixer Challenge offers us to mix together patterns 'Nzeppel and Narwal. Just like the author of this challenge CZT Anya Lothrope I have never used the pattern Narwal before, so I had to train first:

Narwal monotangle on black.
Narwal, Tipple and Florz on tan.

And below are my two attempts to mix the patterns.
Which one do you like best?
Totally white with shading.
(Without shading it is really hard
to distingwish between the two patterns)
Minimum shading,
but with black, gold and decoration.
Anyway the month has just begun and may be later I'll give it another try, as I did with the previous challenge (Crescent Moon + Facade) on the last day of October:

The string ("Trinity") I have used for this Zendala
is taken from Anya's new book "Zendalas. Der Einsteigerkurs".

I love the book, as well as two previous -
(also available in English) and
the first one revealed me the world of Zentangle® and
brought me to tangling in the first place,
and I have never given Zendala a try
before I opened the third one!
These books inspire and stir your imagination, so if enjoy this art form and can read German all of them are "must have" in your Zentangle® library.

That's all for now. All my previous and future entries for the Muster Mixer Challenge  you can find on my Pinterest Board and my new Zendala album you can find on Facebook. Thank you for stopping by and having patience to read my blog, I hope for and look forward to your comments!

P.S. And don't forget to check all the other entries for the challenge (they are wonderful!) and even participate yourself (if you haven't yet) here.

The Diva Weekly Challege #240: Birthday Leaves!

It's autumn and the Diva Challenge this week offers us to be inspired by the season.

I have already been playing with the autumn leaves on the weekend, preparing for the workshop I do with 6-12 year old girls in our Jewish Community Center every Sunday. Below are  some pictures from the last workshop and results of my further experiments.

"Leaf Printing"

Cards that my girls did.
Materials and samples prepared for the workshop
Colour splash
After the workshop I went on with "leaf printing":
Colored pencils on white acrylic paint
Colored pencils on golden acrylic paint
Silber and gold
White, silber and gold

\Silber with a hint of color

All the variety of leaves in color...

...and white, silber and gold.

At the end I thought:

"If I can use leaves as stamps,
why not use them also as stencils with airbrush?"

So I airbrushed my artist journal page,

and my DIY calender page.

That was on Sunday evening, and on Tuesday... guess what?

More pictures of my "leaf printing" you can find on Facebook or on Pinterest.

I would like to thank everyone for visiting my blog, all your comments are truely appreciated!

The Diva Challege #237

This week I got caught by the task of

A guest blogger Charlotte Carpentier, CZT, proposed to find some sort of stencil, make a string with a dye or spray (it can also be tea or wine, or any other natural colourant), and tangle it.

So I prepared some stuff, and was ready to start. My 10-year old daughter was eager to join me (the second week in a row (!!!!!) -  it's real fun doing something together). "OFF WE GO!"

Here is what we've got:

My daughter's picture first -
She stopped somewhere halfway, perhaps she'll return some time later to finish it.

As for me, I've already done three pictures, and I have a suspicion that it is not the end.
My results so far:

Variant 1. Here I have used red and blue blow pens and red and blue 005 Pigma Microns.

Variant 2. A page of my art journal. I have sprayed some coffe first, then added on a still wet page some colour with the blow pens, let it dry and tangled with coloured fineliners.

Variant 3. I have sprayed some coffee through stencils on a tile, then tangled blank spaces with brown (01) and coloured spaces with red (005) Pigma Micron. Added some shading.

And these tiles are still waiting to be tangled on.

Thank you both Charlotte and Laura for a great challenge this week!

A tangled frame

Today I would like to show a frame, which I have tangled with patterns from my new Zentangle Kit
(in Germany you can find it here).

And then I scanned it and played with the frame and my husband's photo in Photoshop a little:

And here you can see me tangling ;-))).

Muster Mixer # 3 (Cadent + Buttercup)

Today I start my very first blog and I'd like to dedicate it to my tangling experience.

I discovered for me Zentangle in September 2014 and can't stop tangling ever since.
This January I had really great time joining a week-end Zentangle course in Hamburg with CZT Anya Lothrop. I understood how wonderful it feels to share your passion with somebody else. And that's why I'm here today.

Starting with December 2014 Anya Lothrop offers a monthly challenge called "Muster Mixer". You can read about it in detail here: in German and in German and English. Link to the latest challenge is here.
And here is what I have done for it (I start with the latest).

February 2015: Muster Mixer #3 (Cadent + Buttercup).

Then I tangled this one.
First I tried on a small Bijou tile.

And then I just couldn't stop ))):

A page from my new artist's journal

January 2015: Muster Mixer #2 (Arukas + Balloya).

December 2014: Muster Mixer #1 (Mooka + Rixty).

More of my tangles you can find here or on Facebook.
